Falaknuma Palace turns fortress for Salman Khan’s ‘Sikandar’ shoot, See viral post

Hyderabad’s majestic Falaknuma Palace has been transformed into a high-security zone as Bollywood megastar Salman Khan films his latest venture “Sikandar,” directed by AR Murugadoss.

The first glimpse of the heavily guarded production emerged through social media when Bigg Boss 17 contestant Arun Mashettey shared a behind-the-scenes photo with Salman.

The image, which quickly went viral, shows Khan, 58, in casual yet sophisticated attire – a blue collared T-shirt paired with grey formal pants – posing alongside Mashettey, who revealed his own role as a driver in the film through a vlog post. The historic palace serves as a stunning backdrop to the photograph.

According to Mid-Day, unprecedented security measures have been implemented following death threats from gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. A production source revealed, “There are three standing sets, of which two are in the city, but the main location is the palace hotel. Even though they are shooting in one portion, the production team has secured access to the entire hotel and grounds, transforming it into a fortress.”

The source elaborated on the stringent security protocols: “While guests can book their stay in the hotel, they have to undergo two levels of screenings, one by the hotel and the other by Salman’s security team. Access to the location is controlled—only those with prior permission can enter, following background and ID checks. The staff also undergo daily screenings, and there is a strict no-swapping policy.”

The actor is reportedly protected by a security detail of 50-70 personnel throughout the shoot. Khan’s month-long schedule in Hyderabad includes filming two special songs with co-star Rashmika Mandanna, after which he’ll head to Dubai for his Dabangg Reloaded tour.

This extraordinary security setup at the former residence of the Nizams of Hyderabad marks an unprecedented moment in Indian cinema, where a film production has required such extensive protective measures.
