WhatsApp Business Features for India
WhatsApp Flows: WhatsApp has unveiled a range of new features for businesses in India during Meta’s second annual Conversations conference in Mumbai. These features aim to enhance the business-customer interaction on the platform and offer businesses more tools to engage with their audience effectively.
New Business Features to WhatsApp
WhatsApp Flows:
WhatsApp’s Flows feature allows businesses to create customized chat experiences for their customers. It enables businesses to build rich menus and forms within the chat, simplifying actions that customers can perform without leaving the conversation.
For example, by using WhatsApp Flows banks can facilitate appointment bookings for opening new accounts, food delivery services can streamline order placement across partner restaurants, and airlines can offer flight check-in and seat selection options. Flows will be accessible to businesses worldwide using the WhatsApp Business Platform in the coming weeks.
Payments:
The Payments feature aims to simplify the purchasing process within the chat. In India, customers can add items to their cart and make payments using various supported methods, including UPI apps, debit and credit cards, and more.
WhatsApp has collaborated with payment partners Razorpay and PayU to enable seamless transactions. While Payments is already live in Brazil and Singapore, it is now available for users in India.
Meta Verified:
Meta Verified is a feature that provides businesses with verification from Meta, ensuring customers that they are engaging with the correct business. To achieve Meta Verified status, businesses must verify their authenticity to Meta, in return receiving a verified badge, improved account support, and protection against impersonation. Meta Verified also offers premium features such as the creation of a custom WhatsApp page for better discoverability through web searches and multi-device support to enable multiple employees to respond to customer queries. This feature will undergo testing with small businesses using the WhatsApp Business app before being extended to businesses on the WhatsApp Business Platform in the future.
Words from Mark Zuckerberg
Mark Zuckerberg, Meta’s founder and CEO, acknowledged India’s pivotal role in WhatsApp’s innovations. He mentioned that India is leading the world in embracing messaging as the preferred means for getting things done. With over 500 million users in India, WhatsApp recognizes the significance of the Indian market and aims to provide businesses with tools that enhance customer engagement and trust.
