Additionally, the Iraqi News Agency reported statements from a civil defense official. He highlighted that the wedding hall’s exterior was adorned with highly flammable cladding materials. These materials are illegal in the country.

The civil defense official pointed out that the use of such highly flammable and inexpensive building materials had catastrophic consequences. These materials are known to collapse rapidly when exposed to fire. The fire not only claimed lives but also led to the collapse of parts of the wedding hall.
