Homage to Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri

On the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, PM Modi paid heartfelt tributes to two iconic leaders of India—Mahatma Gandhi and Lal Bahadur Shastri. These leaders, born on October 2, left an indelible mark on India’s history, and their legacies continue to inspire millions.

Prime Minister Modi began by honoring Mahatma Gandhi. On his 154th birth anniversary, he acknowledged Gandhi’s profound impact. Not just in India but in the entire world. Gandhi’s teachings of non-violence, unity, and compassion continue to guide humanity towards a better future.

Lal Bahadur Shastri’s Legacy

In addition to honoring Gandhi, PM Modi fondly remembered India’s second Prime Minister, Lal Bahadur Shastri, on his birth anniversary. Shastri’s simplicity, unwavering dedication to the nation, and the iconic slogan “Jai Jawan, Jai Kisan” continue to resonate with Indians.

Floral Tributes & Interfaith Prayer Service by PM Modi

To mark the occasion, Prime Minister Modi paid floral tributes at Rajghat, Mahatma Gandhi’s memorial, early in the morning. He offered petals at the Mahatma’s memorial and bowed in reverence.

An interfaith prayer service was held at Rajghat. Gandhi’s favorite devotional songs were played. It emphasizes the message of unity and harmony that Gandhi championed throughout his life.
