Shah Rukh Khan’s smash hit Indian action flick “Jawan” scored a Best International Feature nomination at the 2024 ASTRA Film and Arts Awards, organizers announced Thursday.
The Hollywood Creative Alliance revealed nominations for next year’s ASTRAs, which included the Khan-starrer among worldwide entries like “Barbie,” “Oppenheimer” and “Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.”
Set to be held in Los Angeles on Feb. 26, the ASTRAs jury selected “Jawan” for its high-octane stunt sequences and emotional core centered on Khan’s character. Released last September, the big-budget film broke multiple box office records.
Directed by Atlee Kumar and produced by Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment, “Jawan” co-stars Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi, with Deepika Padukone featuring in a cameo.
The Los Angeles-based Hollywood Critics Association re-branded its awards as the ASTRAs this year. The group spotlights creative excellence through nominations across film and art categories.
