Aditya L1 Misson to the Sun
The Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) just recently shared images of the Earth and the moon. It also includes a selfie taken by the Aditya-L1. These images are also uploaded by ISRO as shown below on X.
Details about Aditya L1 Solar Misson from ISRO
Using the ISRO’s Polar Satellite Launch Vehicle named PSLV-C57, Aditya L1 was launched into space. It was done on 2nd September 2023 from the second launch pad of Satish Dhawan Space Center in Sriharikota.
Aditya-L1 is India’s first mission to the Sun. It successfully entered an elliptical orbit after a 63-minute and 20-second flight. The orbit measures 235 kilometers x 19,500 kilometers around the Earth.
ISRO’s Aditya L1 Second EarthBound Manoeuvre
While in this week earlier, it even successfully completed the second earth-bound maneuver. It was already announced by ISRO during early Tuesday i.e. on 5th September 2023. It took a crucial step in the progress of the mission.
EBN#2 was executed by ISRO’s own telemetry, tracking, and command network (ISTRAC) which is located in Bengaluru. The operation was closely monitored on the grounds of ISRO which are situated at Mauritius, Bengaluru, and even Port Blair.
Aditya L1’s next course of Action
The operations mentioned above were successfully executed on 3rd September. Now, the spacecraft is anticipated to go into earth-bound maneuvers twice which is before it gets transferred to the final destination. The final destination is called Lagrange point L1.
It would take Aditya L1 approx 127 days to reach the designated orbit which is about 4 months for the distance of 1.5million kilometers from the Earth.
It sounds amazing to know such feats taken by our own Indian Scientists of ISRO for making Aditya L1. What do you think about the same? Do drop your thoughts in the comments below.
