The internet has dubbed Tesla CEO Elon Musk and Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni as a ‘perfect couple’ after Musk praised her during an awards ceremony in New York, held on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly on Tuesday.

After seeing the two together, netizens flooded social media with comments like, ‘I am totally shipping these two. Perfect,’ and ‘Now that’s the kind of international power couple I can get behind.’ Others chimed in with remarks such as, ‘That’s Amore (That’s love).’

One user humorously added, ‘I wanna find someone that looks at me the same way Meloni looks at Musk.’ However, Musk put an end to the speculation on Wednesday by replying to a post on X (formerly Twitter) that questioned whether the two were dating. Musk simply responded, ‘Not dating.’

This isn’t the first time the internet has linked Musk and Meloni. In December last year, several X posts suggested they were together after Musk accepted Meloni’s invitation to attend a political event in Rome.

Elon Musk’s Praise for Meloni
During the ceremony, Musk presented Giorgia Meloni with the Atlantic Council Global Citizen Award, praising her as someone who is ‘even more beautiful on the inside than on the outside.’ He added, ‘She’s authentic, honest, and truthful—qualities not often found in politicians.’

Meloni received the award for her ‘strong support of the EU’ and for becoming Italy’s first female prime minister.

Previously, the internet had been abuzz with memes pairing Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Meloni, humorously portraying a romance between the two. These memes gained popularity during the G20 Summit in India and following the BJP’s shortfall in the Lok Sabha elections.

Users even created the hashtag #Melodi by combining Meloni and Modi’s names. Meloni herself used the hashtag in December last year when she posted a selfie with Modi after meeting him during the COP28 summit in Dubai. She shared a similar picture with Modi again in June this year.”
