Do Credit Cards Offer ‘Airport Lounge’ Access? Read how…

In a significant move following the unexpected suspension of lounge services by Dreamfolks Services, Adani Airport Holdings Ltd (AAHL) has announced that lounges at its airports will now accept all major debit and credit cards from other access providers. This ensures uninterrupted access to airport lounges for travellers across India, provided their credit card issuer supports lounge access.

To determine if your credit card offers lounge benefits, you can follow these steps:

  1. Review Your Card’s Benefits Guide: The booklet or manual that accompanies your card typically lists all perks, including lounge access.
  2. Check Your Card Issuer’s Website: Log into your online account with your card issuer and search for the “benefits” section.
  3. Contact Customer Service: Call the hotline on the back of your card and inquire about airport lounge access.
  4. Verify Lounge Access Networks: Many credit cards that offer lounge access partner with services like Priority Pass, MasterCard Lounge, or Visa Lounge. If your card is part of one of these networks, you’re likely eligible for airport lounge access. Visit the official websites of these programs to check your eligibility.
  5. Check for Additional Cards: If your card includes a lounge access program, you might receive a separate membership card.
  6. Access the Lounge: To use your lounge access, simply present your card at the airport lounge reception, pay any required fees, and enjoy the benefits.

Note: Lounge access fees in India typically start at ₹1,000 per visit, but the exact cost may vary depending on the airline and lounge.

Additionally, some third-party apps, like ‘LoungeKey,’ can help you check lounge access by entering your card details. If your card is eligible, the app will display available lounges and their access conditions.

This change implemented by Adani Airports provides travellers with greater flexibility and convenience, ensuring a more seamless airport experience, especially in the wake of Dreamfolks’ suspension.
