Beyoncé playfully called out Netflix’s past streaming glitches in a promotional video for her upcoming halftime performance at the NFL Christmas Gameday.
The “Texas Hold ‘Em” singer is set to headline the halftime show during the Baltimore Ravens vs. Houston Texans game on Christmas Day at NRG Stadium in her hometown of Houston.
Sharing the promotional video on X and Instagram, Beyoncé racked up over 3.5 million views. In the clip, she strums a banjo while seated on a football field, but as she removes her sunglasses, the screen starts buffering—an apparent nod to Netflix’s technical issues during the Mike Tyson vs. Jake Paul fight in November. The video concludes with Beyoncé winking as the Texans, Ravens, and Netflix logos appear.
In the caption of her Instagram post, she wrote: “Sending you big joy and love on this Cowboy Christmas Eve. I’ll see y’all tomorrow in my city, HTX.” Netflix humorously responded with, “Now hold on,” and updated its X bio to read, “roasted by Beyoncé 12.24.24.”
Social Media Reactions
Fans flooded social media with excitement. One user wrote, “I LOVE YOU BEYONCÉ THIS JUST MADE MY DAY. I WAS CRYING ALL MORNING BUT IM BETTER NOW.” Another added, “BEYONCÉ, WE LOVE YOU!!!!! WE ARE SO EXCITED!!!!!!!” A third user said, “I love a good troll.”
Ravens vs. Texans Game
The Ravens vs. Texans game kicks off at 4:30 p.m. ET. Beyoncé’s performance will mark the first time she performs songs from her Cowboy Carter album live since its release in March.
Netflix secured exclusive Christmas Day game rights in a $75 million, three-season deal that includes the broadcast of NFL games in 2025 and 2026. Alongside the Ravens-Texans match, Netflix will also air a game at 1 p.m. ET featuring the Kansas City Chiefs and the Pittsburgh Steelers at Acrisure Stadium in Pittsburgh.
