Actor Saif Ali Khan is currently undergoing surgery at Lilavati Hospital after being stabbed during an attempted burglary at his Bandra residence in the early hours of Thursday. Doctors have confirmed that no vital organs were harmed and his spine remains unaffected.
In an official statement to the media, Kareena Kapoor Khan’s team shared, “There was an attempted burglary at Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan’s residence last night. Saif sustained an injury on his arm and is currently in the hospital undergoing a medical procedure. The rest of the family is safe and doing well.”
The statement further urged the media and fans to refrain from speculation, stating, “We request everyone to remain patient and avoid any speculation as the police are actively investigating the matter.” The statement was signed by Team Kareena Kapoor Khan.
Earlier in the day, Saif’s team also released a statement confirming the incident: “There was an attempted burglary at Mr. Saif Ali Khan’s residence. He is currently hospitalized and undergoing surgery. We kindly ask the media and fans to be patient as this is an active police investigation. We will provide updates as they become available.”
Details of the Incident and Saif’s Injuries
According to reports, an unidentified individual broke into Saif Ali Khan’s home around 2:30 a.m. on Thursday and got into an altercation with the household staff. When Saif attempted to intervene and calm the situation, the intruder attacked him, resulting in injuries. Mumbai Police are actively investigating the incident.
At the time of the attack, Kareena Kapoor and their two sons, Taimur and Jeh, were present in the house. Saif’s elder son, Ibrahim Ali Khan, later arrived and took him to Lilavati Hospital for treatment.
Dr. Niraj Uttamani, COO of Lilavati Hospital, confirmed that Saif sustained six injuries. A doctor, speaking anonymously, revealed that a fragment of the knife was found in his body and doctors are still assessing the extent of the injuries. Despite the wounds, Saif is able to move his limbs, indicating that his spine is unharmed.
