As the Asian Games 2023 concluded, China emerged as the leader in the medal tally with a total of 383 medals, including 201 gold, 111 silver, and 71 bronze. Japan secured the second position with 188 medals (52 gold, 67 silver, 69 bronze), followed by South Korea in third place with 190 medals (42 gold, 59 silver, 89 bronze).

India’s remarkable performance placed the country fourth place with 107 medals, including 28 gold, 38 silver, and 41 bronze. Uzbekistan completed the top five with 71 medals (22 gold, 18 silver, 31 bronze).

Team India’s performance at the Asian Games 2023 was marked by several historic milestones achieved in various sports events. These milestones included India’s first medal in the Women’s 10m Air Rifle Team Event, the inaugural Gold in the Men’s Air Rifle Team Event, remarkable victories in Squash and Javelin Throw, a gold medal in equestrian, and Parul Choudhary’s exceptional come-from-behind triumph in the Women’s 5000m. Additionally, Aditi Ashok’s historic medal in golf added to the nation’s pride.

India’s overall medal count in Hangzhou included 28 gold, 38 silver, and 41 bronze medals, marking a remarkable leap from the 70 medals secured in Jakarta in 2018.
