Looking forward to working closely together once again to further strengthen India-US relations across technology, defence, energy, space and several other sectors.”

The election results marked a historic moment in American political history, as Trump became the first president in 132 years to secure non-consecutive terms in the White House. He defeated Vice President Kamala Harris, who had aimed to become the first woman president of the United States.

According to Associated Press projections as of 10:30 pm IST, Trump had secured 277 electoral votes compared to Harris’s 224. His path to victory was cemented by winning crucial swing states including Wisconsin, North Carolina, Georgia, and Pennsylvania. The AP also indicated Trump was leading in other battleground states such as Arizona, Michigan, and Nevada.

Both leaders affirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and working together toward global peace and stability. The conversation highlighted the continued importance of the India-US strategic partnership across multiple sectors including defence, technology, and energy.
