PM Modi Marks ‘23 Years’ in Public Office, BJP congratulates his Historic Journey

Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached a significant milestone Monday, completing 23 years in public office, prompting senior BJP leaders to commemorate his journey from Gujarat’s Chief Minister to India’s Prime Minister as a testament to dedicated public service.

PM Modi completes 23 years in Public Office

PM Modi’s political trajectory began on October 7, 2001, when he took oath as Gujarat’s Chief Minister, a position he held for 13 years before ascending to the nation’s highest executive office in 2014. Currently serving his third consecutive term as Prime Minister, Modi’s tenure has drawn praise from his party colleagues for what they describe as transformative leadership.

Amit Shah takes to social media

Union Home Minister Amit Shah, a long-time associate of Modi, reflected on this journey through a statement on X (formerly Twitter) in Hindi, “Today Prime Minister Narendra Modi has completed 23 years in his public life as Chief Minister and Prime Minister. This 23-year-long journey of public service is a symbol of the unique dedication of how a person can devote his entire life to the national interest and welfare of people.”

Shah, who has witnessed Modi’s political evolution firsthand, emphasized the Prime Minister’s holistic approach to governance, noting his simultaneous focus on poverty alleviation, national development, security, and India’s global standing.

PM Modi’s dedication is inspiring: JP Nadda

BJP President JP Nadda highlighted Modi’s commitment to “Antyodaya” (upliftment of the poorest), stating, “His dedication to Maa Bharati (Mother India) is inspiring for all of us. The country’s progress and global prestige have achieved new dimensions under his leadership.” Nadda particularly emphasized Modi’s journey from being a party worker to the nation’s leader, characterizing it as “inclusive and all-encompassing.”

Former BJP President and current Union Minister Nitin Gadkari added to the chorus of congratulations, describing Modi as “the world’s most popular leader” while noting the parallel rise in India’s global stature during his 23 years of public service.

Here’s what BJP’s official page says:

The BJP’s official communication emphasized Modi’s governance model, particularly highlighting how his initiatives as Gujarat’s Chief Minister evolved into national movements through “jan bhagidari” (public participation). The party specifically pointed out Modi’s work ethic, stating, “For over two decades, PM Modi has selflessly prioritized the nation, working tirelessly without a single vacation.”

Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan praised Modi’s leadership philosophy, noting his adherence to the principle of “Sabka Sath, Sabka Vikas” (Together with all, Development for all) and the mantra of “charaiveti – charaiveti” (keep marching).

PM Modi’s vision to see India as developed nation in 2047

This milestone comes at a time when PM Modi leads India’s ambitious vision of becoming a developed nation by 2047. The BJP has positioned this 23-year journey as evidence of Modi’s “rashtra pratham” (nation first) commitment, emphasizing his role in transforming the lives of 140 crore Indians.

The celebration of this milestone by BJP leadership underscores Modi’s dominant position in Indian politics, having successfully transitioned from state to national leadership while maintaining popular support.

His tenure has been marked by significant policy initiatives, from economic reforms to digital transformation, though it has also faced challenges and criticism from opposition parties.

As Modi continues his third term as Prime Minister, this 23-year milestone serves as both a reflection of his political journey and a reminder of his enduring influence on India’s political landscape. The consistent theme in the BJP’s celebrations emphasized Modi’s dedication to public service and national development, framing his leadership as instrumental in shaping India’s domestic and international trajectory.
