PM Modi Initiates ‘Sankalp Saptaah’ Program for Aspirational Blocks

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated a unique week-long initiative named ‘Sankalp Saptaah’ for aspirational blocks across India. The program, launched at Bharat Mandapam in the national capital, is closely associated with the effective execution of the aspirational blocks program (ABP).

‘Sankalp Saptaah’ will be observed in all 500 aspirational blocks. Each day from October 3 to October 9, 2023, dedicated to a specific development theme on which all aspirational blocks will focus.

Budget Is Not a Necessity for Change: In his address, Prime Minister Modi emphasized that a change doesn’t require a large budget. He stressed that by optimizing resource utilization and promoting convergence, significant development work can be accomplished in any block without additional financial expenditure.

Good Governance for Challenging Targets: Modi underlined the importance of good governance, stating that it enables the achievement of challenging objectives.

The Power of Society: The Prime Minister acknowledged the strength of society as the most potent force for change. He encouraged the idea that not everything can be accomplished by the government alone, highlighting the quick results achieved in regions where community unity is strong, such as the Swachh Bharat (Clean India) campaign.

Block Panchayats play a crucial role in the Aspirational Block Programme.

Development for All: The Prime Minister expressed his vision for India to become a developed nation by 2047 but emphasized that development should not bypass villages. He advocated a model where both urban centers and rural areas progress together, aiming to improve the lives of all 1.4 billion citizens.

Confidence in Success: Modi expressed confidence in the Aspirational Block Program’s success. He also cited the achievements of the Aspirational Districts Program. He also predicted a similar outcome for the Aspirational Block Program.
