Will Rohit Sharma be in the Perth Test?

The timing of the happy news has sparked discussion about Rohit’s availability for the upcoming Test against Australia in Perth on November 22. With uncertainty surrounding the captain’s participation, Jasprit Bumrah could potentially step in as leader.

The situation has triggered varied responses from cricket personalities. While Sunil Gavaskar suggested Rohit should relinquish captaincy for the entire series if he misses the opener, former Australian captain Aaron Finch strongly defended Sharma’s potential absence.

“I disagree with Sunny on that totally,” Finch stated on ESPNcricinfo’s Around the Wicket show. “If you need to stay at home because your wife’s going to have a baby that’s such a beautiful moment and you take all the time that you need in that regard.”
