OnePlus to launch 1st Flip Phone: Here’s all we know!

OnePlus is reportedly preparing to flip into the clamshell foldable market, with reliable Chinese leaker Digital Chat Station suggesting an April-June 2025 launch window for the company’s first flip-style device, tentatively dubbed the OnePlus V Flip.

OnePlus to launch its 1st Flip Phone

Following the successful debut of the OnePlus Open, this move signals the company’s expanding presence in the foldable segment. Initial speculation suggested the V Flip might be a rebranded Oppo Find N5 Flip, but with Oppo reportedly shelving their flip phone plans, OnePlus appears to be charting its own course in design and specifications.

The clamshell market, currently dominated by Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip series and Motorola’s Razr line, could see a shake-up with OnePlus’s signature approach of premium features at competitive prices.

When OnePlus would launch its Flip Phone?

But that’s not all from OnePlus’s foldable playbook. The company is also reportedly developing the OnePlus Open 2, slated for an early 2025 release.

The successor to their first book-style foldable is rumoured to pack some impressive upgrades, including a beefier 5,700mAh battery with wireless charging support – a significant jump from its predecessor’s 4,805mAh capacity.

What can we expect from Open 2?

The Open 2 is expected to maintain a slim profile despite the larger battery and could feature Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset. Photography enthusiasts might be pleased with the rumoured Hasselblad-tuned triple-camera system, featuring a 50-megapixel main sensor, ultra-wide lens, and a periscope telephoto lens with optical zoom capabilities.

While these leaks paint an intriguing picture of OnePlus’s foldable future, the specifics remain unconfirmed. As the proposed launch windows approach, more details about these devices should emerge, potentially reshaping the foldable phone landscape in 2025.

The expansion into flip phones suggests that OnePlus is betting big on foldable technology, aiming to capture a larger share of this growing market segment while maintaining its reputation for innovation and value.
